Just found out about an event that is going on from tomorrow Friday 16 June for a week which I'm going to support and hope all you readers and writers do too.

It is Independent Bookshop Week which is part of Books are my Bag campaign which encourages reading.

As much as I love Waterstones I believe Independent bookshops are important. 

During the week there will be author signings, reading groups and literary lunches to name but a few things going off in bookshops.  

Also there is a bookshop crawl which sounds fun.

Personally I hope to visit bookshops in Harrogate or York this weekend as well as the local ones above.

IndieBound & Independent Bookshop Week

Independent Bookshop Week 2018 will take place 16 - 23 June. IBW is part of the Books Are My Bag campaign, and seeks to celebrate independent bookshops in the UK and Ireland.  We do this with events, celebrations, reading groups, storytelling, author signings, literary lunches and face painting!  Your local bookshop will have their own way of celebrating, and we encourage you to visit to celebrate with them.
