Books Read in 2020 - No. 3.
Hi folks
Less than 2 weeks it has taken me to read the next Doctor Who novel in my boxsets.
Again focusing on the Ninth Doctor as played by the great Christopher Eccleston. Together with Rose and Captain Jack as always.
Only Human by Gareth Roberts is a great fast paced read. Starting with a fight in a night club with a real life Neanderthal and mainly set about 23,000 years in the past as humans are about to overtake the Neanderthal race.
Something is amiss. When the Tardis crew find and try to take Das (the Neanderthal) back to his time he nearly disintegrates so Captain Jack is set the task of easing Das into his new world. Something Das does with ease.
Back in the past The Doctor and Rose find an underground town from the future and they are examining the early humans and Neanderthals.
The team leader Chantal has an hidden agenda and keeps something mysterious and growing behind the grey door.
She wants to wipe out both species.
Overall - I really enjoyed this as a fast paced romp with more action than the previous book. Gareth Roberts has a better writing style and understanding of the characters of Rose, The Doctor and Jack.
I liked Das's diary entries of him integrating with 21st century also.
Score - 8/10
