Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - Film Review

Hi Nerds

Took the daughter to see the newest Marvel movie and the third Antman film, over the weekend.

Have to admit it was better than their last couple of films, including Thor - Love and Thunder.

The film starts with Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) and his family enjoying life and fame after Avengers Endgame.

This includes Hank Pym (Micheal Douglas), Janet Van Dyne (the still gorgeous Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hope Van Dyne (the beautiful Evangeline Lilly).  Oh Scott's daughter Cassie is there also and builds a satellite that can map the Quantum realm.  Doing this triggers a signal to Kang (Jonathan Mayors) and MODOK (Corey Stoll).  Yes he is the guy who plays the villain in the first Antman film.  He was mutated and now has a big head and little body.  The CGI for MODOK wasn't great.

Kang is wanting to escape the Quantum realm and the Pym particles are the only thing that can help.

Overall - the film is a good adventure which has some stunning visual effects in the Quantum realm.  Yet some of it can be too much and make you feel sick.  Most of the acting is really good from Michelle Pfeiffer and Jonathan Mayors.  Paul Rudd is better in this film also.

The weak spots are MODOK - special effects are crap. It looks like a deepfake app has been used.  Plus his story from the first Antman is ruined by realising he has been a dick all his life.

The actress who played Scott Lang's daughter in Endgame showed more emotions in one scene than the actress who plays Cassie in this film.  Her expression never changes and looks surprised the whole time.  She also says the worst dialogue.

There are parts taken from other Marvel films also, plus a scene with Bill Murrays character which has been copied from The Boys season three where the Deep is forced to eat an Octopus.

Bels Score   -  7.5/10

My Score     -  7.5/10
