Top Writers Meet at Cleckheaton

Hi followers

Has been a good night at Cleckheaton Library and met the new guy Daniel who wrote a very descriptive and moving piece based on his own life - a biography so to speak - very brave and good piece of writing too!

Even I read out my own work - the prologue to The Wormhole Effect - very nervous as not keen on talking to groups but as this was small wasn't too bad!
Talking of which if any of you want to join let me know!
Dawn read out her 403rd chapter of her young adult novel - only joking Dawn!  Chapter 43 - very good it was too and she has done well to get to 43rd chapter - hope I can get to the forth never mind 43rd!
It was my cup of tea too - people on a fantasy quest with magic artefacts and secrets - when I get the chance wouldn't mind reading it all - just getting time to read it!
Also some good news for Karen who won the "How to write a childrens picture book competition" with a very funny bedroom story/verse called " No Bear for Bedtime" - Well done Karen - let this be the first of many competition wins for you and the group!

Tonight also inspired me to get editing my novel "Wormhole Effect" especially as deadline approaching for novel competition on 31st March!  Although in my new flat haven't a decent television so this may not be a problem!
Write soon folks!

Wormhole Effect Prologue

Hi everyone - long time no blog!  Have been busy moving into new flat so hopefully be writing more now I'm settled in!  Here's something I managed to get done though a prologue to my novel The Wormhole Effect - Enjoy

Adam’s head was pounding hard, nausea welled up from within as he tried to come around and remember what had happened!  He struggled to open his eyes but the bash to the head had affected his sight too.  As he opened his eyes all he could see was white light.  Blurred shapes went back and forth.  People he thought.  But the light and blurriness just made his head hurt even more.

He felt the warm stream of blood running down the side of his face and the pounding of his pulse at the temple and the gush of blood made his head worse.  Adam went to move his hand to wipe away the blood running down his face and to feel how bad the cut was, but as he tried to move either hand he realised they were tied up somehow at his sides.  The more he tried to move them the more he could feel whatever was around his wrists tightening up, hurting him.  His hands started to feel numb as the circulation started to cut off.

Adam looked down towards his hands trying to focus through the concussion, through the whiteness he made out something green wrapped around his wrists, he thought it looked like vine and with panic welling up within he started to thrash about which only made the vines tighten on his wrists even more, cutting into his flesh.
Suddenly a shadow came up on him fast and Adam briefly felt a hard leathery hand on the front of his head.  It felt cold but Adam had no time to register this as the hand whacked him hard in his face,  as his head went back it hit the harsh jagged rock he was tied to and he slumped into darkness.

Eek

Oh dear - down to six followers again!! Better start blogging again and hopefully get more followers - although I expect I will get more when I a super successful author - up there with JK Rowling - swapping notes - and charging Cleckheaton Writers Group £20 per hour to be there - lol !

But haven't been writing much even though got an important headline for end of March with Good Housekeeping magazine!

Hopefully will write lots once I have sorted my flat out and got electric and some furniture ect!
Once flat sorted I should be writing 20 chapters per night as won't have anything else to do until I get a t.v.!

Will put some writing on by end of week peeps - see you soon!
